Programs

As a service-driven organization, the Tau Theta chapter is committed to planning and implementing impactful programs that serve the UVA and Charlottesville communities. For more than four decades, Tau Theta women have upheld the sorority’s principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood, and finer womanhood while making meaningful contributions through a wide range of initiatives. These efforts include the Hope Community Center Annual Fall Festival, Carver Recreation Center Youth Halloween Party, March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon, Black Student Alliance’s The Source, UVA Spring Step Show, Crohn’s awareness and fundraising initiatives, Stork’s Nest, voter registration drives, Black History Month co-sponsored events, UVA Move-In Day support, and elder care initiatives. Tau Theta also hosts educational forums on topics such as safe dating, self-defense and domestic violence awareness, business etiquette, career success, and academic study sessions.
